About

VIE is a place where art, fashion, architecture and design converge. Located in the heart of Paris, VIE is a gallery and studio workspace partnering with trailblazers, thinkers, artists, and creatives to curate experiences and foster these diverse networks to gather and multiply.

VIE is where people, ideas, and creativity collide. It’s a place for those who seek more from life—more connection, expression and meaning.
VIE Projects and Studio span 320 m², with the gallery space on Boulevard Beaumarchais covering 80 m², which can be expanded to 160 m² along rue des Tournelles, stretching across an entire Parisian city block. An additional 160 m² is dedicated to a workspace fostering experimentation across all creative disciplines. Together, these two spaces represent the dual facets of a singular vision devoted to the arts and innovation.

VIE is an initiative of Michelle Lu, founder of media platform Semaine, and architect Julien De Smedt.

RECTO VERSO
FOUR
FOUR is a design and ceramics studio founded in 2020 by Sonia Oet and Jeanne Viviès, based in Paris. Its ambition is to explore the table in a new way, creating a dialogue between objects and culinary inspiration, at the crossroads of design, craftsmanship, and gastronomy.
OVAL PLAYSPACE
AMCA OVAL
On the occasion of Paris Design Week 2025, AMCA OVAL presents an immersive installation that brings together iconic pieces and new creations, conceived as a playground for living spaces and their uses. In this environment, objects become sculptural totems, blurring the boundaries between design and function without ever compromising an eco-responsible production process.
MENE MENE TEKEL UPHARSIN
James Massiah
Mene Mene Tekel Upharsin is the first solo exhibition by poet, DJ, and artist James Massiah. Presenting a series of text based works extracted from a single poem, the show is inspired by a scene from Hanna-Barbera’s religious animation “The Greatest Adventure; Daniel and the Lion’s Den”. The words Mene Mene Tekel Upharsin appear during the great feast of Babylon, whereupon God, angered by the depraved and unruly festivities, summons an Angel to inscribe these words on the walls of King Belshazzar’s palace for all to see. The words are a warning, a call for self-reflection and religious condoning of amoral affairs.
L’IMPRESSION D’ANARCHIE
Shaun McDowell
L’Impression d’Anarchie is the first solo show of Rome based British artist Shaun McDowell in Paris. Lyrical yet dynamic, the paintings presented combine striking colours and contrasting movements, creating an almost baroque or even mannerist atmosphere that plays with a much more modern spirit, typical of the artist's practice. Many works are elliptical, framed in handcrafted wood, sometimes gilded in gold, silver, or platinum.
SUBSTANCE EN DÉSORDRE
India Leire
Substance en Désordre is a selection of works that highlights Paris-based British artist India Leire’s ongoing artistic modus operandi (and vivendi). But more than a retrospective, this exhibition is a well-thought demonstration of the different tangible nuances that characterize India Leire’s practice. Her work is in constant metamorphosis, almost like the natural world she takes inspiration from. The pieces on display are in this sense a material rendering of the artist's perception of Nature, between harmony and chaos, betwixt grace and roughness, spikes and curves.
RITA
Valentine Cascailh
Graduated from the École des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg, Rita founder Valentine Cascailh has always challenged beauty standards from the time of her thesis. She then joined the image team at Maison Margiela. Now based in Paris, she divides her time between running Rita Intimates and working as a freelance art director and graphic designer, within the Maybe agency (Charles Levai and Kevin Tekinel), as well as collaborating with artists, filmmakers, and cultural institutions.
LAMIA LAGHA
Lamia Lagha
Lamia Lagha is a visionary designer and image-maker who has played a key role in shaping some of the world’s most renowned fashion brands. Born and raised in Germany with Tunisian roots, Lamia, her aesthetic is defined by a minimalist sensibility that coexists with a subtle femininity. Her designs and image-making practice draw inspiration from diverse cultural references, such as Pina Bausch (a driving inspiration behind her first collection) Bauhaus design and David Bowie—embodying a pursuit of freedom that recalls the artistry of film. Vie Projects welcomes her showroom to launch her highly anticipated eponymous fashion brand.
MERRMA X CAPELLI
Merrma x Capelli
“Merrma” originates from the Wagiman language of Australia, meaning “walking by the water looking for something with your feet.” While this may not directly relate to hair, Merrma Earth captures this sense of exploration and wonder. Each hair accessory from Merrma is meticulously designed to evoke this sentiment. The brand draws all its inspiration from the beauty and diversity of nature, reflecting its vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and organic forms.
LIVE MORE WORK LESS
Julien De Smedt
Live More Work Less is an exhibition of architecture and experimental furniture by Julien De Smedt to celebrate the opening of JDSA Paris. For this show, the 320m² of the entirety of Vie Projects and Studios has been taken over by photography of JDSA’s architecture, captured by Belgian photographer Julien Lanoo. These works are displayed alongside an entirely new set of furniture created for Live More Work Less. The theme of Live/Work, emerged when the architect began working from home during COVID; which questions how we can combine these often two separate sides of inhabitation.
GELÉE MARCHÉ
Gelée
In partnership with nourishing fruit jelly brand Gelée, Studio.Semaine. x Gelée have created the holiday market of dreams to reinvent festive consumerism. A lush, fruit-forward jelly that is as nourishing for the palette and body, is the basis for modernistic interpretation of your local marché in a truly joyful, sensory playground. A place where visitors can taste, touch, and immerse themselves in the seasonal magic with their loved ones.
A RETURN TO EARTH
Sky High Farm
This exhibition delves into the transformative intersection of art, fashion, and farming, imagining a future grounded in collaboration and sustainability. Partnering with the cult media platform Semaine, the showcase features imagery from Issue 11, spotlighting Sky High Farm—a 40-acre, donation-driven farm in New York’s Hudson Valley, established in 2011 by acclaimed contemporary artist Dan Colen. Photographer Devin Doyle captures the essence of the farm’s team, livestock, and bountiful produce, bringing its story to life. Complementing the vision, set design duo Samuel Bégis and Margot Cosyn craft a striking 3-meter soil installation, drawing inspiration from the land art, and Earthworks movement of the 1960s and 70s.
